Sara has been teaching Egyptian Dance in Britain and Europe for 18 years.

She performed with Suraya Hilal’s company The Dance theatre of Egypt at venues including the Womad Festival (with Les Musicien du Nil), the Almeida Theatre, and The Purcell Room.

Sara formed, with Suraya Hilal and four other senior teachers, the Hilal School of Raqs Sharqi, founded the international Raqs Sharqi Summer School at King Alfred’s College, Winchester, and she is now a senior teacher with the Raqs Sharqi Society.

She now teaches regular classes in London and workshops both in Britain and beyond.

She also performs, wherever possible with live music, at a variety of venues: theatres, arts centres and festivals.
